The Ol'Smokehaus Story

1948 - Earl & Mildred making German style pan haus and sausage. In southwest Ohio, the Landes name has meant premium quality meat for many years. Our foreparents, Earl and Mildred Landes, purchased the Landes farm in 1946 and began raising hogs. In the winter months, they would butcher hogs for friends and neighbors. Word spread and before long they found themselves proprietors of a small butchering shop offering their services year round.

1980 - Earl waiting on customer with his big smile and a pocket full of gum ready to hand out. Many things have changed in the years since, but our core values haven't. The Landes family still runs the business on the original farm with the same commitment to quality. Over the years, Landes Fresh Meats has expanded to include beef & poultry products, a deli, a bakery and country market.

2000 - Beef stick coming out of the Smokehaus! Since the early years, Landes Fresh Meats has been curing and smoking their own meats and people come from miles around for it. That's why in the year 2000, Landes started a division called Ol'Smokhaus by Landes® to focus completely on that segement. Ol'Smokehaus now produces some of the world's finest meat snacks.
